Bulking up before starting a challenge

At work we are having an 8-pounds in 10-weeks weight loss challenge. The first weigh in is today. My co-worker convinced us all that we should eat a huge lunch and drink a lot of water so the scale will be higher than normal, and then the weight will come off faster. Unfortunately, I did that as well and had a lower calorie but very dense lunch that makes me feel like I weigh a TON.

I hope his strategy works. A vacation to one of my favorite spots is the grand prize for the person who not only loses 8 lbs, but also has the highest percentage of weight lost. I'm going to be working my tushie off (literally) for the next 10 weeks!!! I love to win!
