Hi there,
I am just starting out and need some inspiration.
Would those of you who have already lost some weight please tell me what changes you have noticed in your body and how your life has changed as a result of the weight loss (e.g. things you can do now that you couldn't or wouldn't have done before)?
Would you please included in your answer how much weight you have lost?
I look forward to reading your success stories!

ok,
started a job in April 2011 with the biggest house builder in the UK, by October I was depressed, unhappy, and started to regret that I had left my old employer, I didnt fit in, and didnt like the role, I had put on a lot of weight as well! I was working 50hrs a week and just coming home pigging out and spending all week end on the couch sleeping. I was lazy and tired all the time.
so in October I had a big bust up with the Director and next day quit for my own health. the stress was to much! and it was taking its toll on my health. So with no job to go to I through myself into my old life style of fittness with the view to get a job in the new year.
I weighed 88kg/ 194IBS!! the weight soon dropped off, fast forward to today and I weigh 77.7kg/171IBS, I look and feel healthy again. My jeans no longer fit! I have so much energy now!! my whole diet has changed, along with my attiude towards food.
Its amazing how your body reacts when you put it through its paces, and the same goes for when you take it for granted. I knew it would take time but didnt think I would get results so fast. The best bit for me is my progress photos i take each week and I always look back at them which gives me real inspiration! and so do nice comments from friends, people and family on my new body. stick with it and you will see results!0 -
I've not lost much compared to some on here. I got down to 19lbs, glitched a little and gained almost 9lbs back and am now on my way down again at a total loss of 13lbs. Still, my health has increased so much - I didn't realise I was unhealthy until my health improved! Last year, close to my lowest weight, I did a 23-mile hike that included climbing mountains and a waterfall - a definite achievement that gave me the opportunity to raise funds for a children's charity.
Helping children is kind of my calling in life, and my motivation for losing weight is to have a child of my own, so the fact that my weight loss is helping children as I go is a particularly great thing for me. That's all I want to do with my life.0 -
Congrats on making the decision to improve yourself! I wanted to start with that.
Mine wasn't a BAM, everything has changed thing...it was gradual and that made it effective for me. Due to medical issues, I gained up to 236.6lbs at my heaviest (end of March), and even though I knew I couldn't do much in way of exercise yet (until they figured out my medical), I could start making changes. I first eliminated processed foods, artificial sugars... did that for 3 weeks (they say it takes that long to make a new habit). Then it was increased water, no more soda pop... again, 3 weeks... then my medical was figured out and I got the green light to start exercising... bought an elliptical, then a couple months later, bought a gym for the house too. I am now 188lbs and have almost 40lbs left to go, but it has slowed a bit. Here are some things I have noticed - I "feel" good... even during my pain flares when I can't do much in way of exercising, I still feel good. I no longer have a hard time to face my day, I no longer feel "blah" in the middle of the day anymore. I have gone from buying a size 2x bottom (or a tight size 18) to now being in a medium bottoms (or juniors sz 11... I have like no hips at all) - I am no longer so self conscious about myself that I won't participate with my kids at the basketball court or playing tennis... I will be the first to jump in now! I am sleeping better at night - couldn't do that before. Was it overnight? Heck no... it's been near a year just to lose a bit over 45lbs... it's slow, but so worth it, and you will notice way more happy changes than just a number on the scale! Go for it !!!!!0
