I'm on my second week of myfitnesspal.com I've been doing great with my calories, however I came home and my husband is cooking homemade chili how would i calculate 1 cup of this? Is it possible? I don't want to go over my calories.

The only way I've been able to calculate servings is to cook the food myself and put every single ingredient (and the measurement of the ingredient) into a "recipe". Then I estimate how much the total recipe yields. (For example: 16 cups of chicken noodle soup, or something.) From there I decide how much a "serving" will be. (Anywhere from ½ cup to 2 cups of the given recipe.) Once I figure out how many servings are in the recipe, then I have the calorie amount. I have no idea how you would do it if you don't have all the recipe information, though. Just guess based on other people's entries, I suppose?0
