my boys (8 and 10) just bought their first 'real' digital camera with their christmas money from relatives (cheap $80 walmart specials). they are so stoked! it got me to thinking about my first camera. i was 7. it was a pink 35mm for $13. i used to save up my allowance money and buy new film for it each month. ...i took the worst pictures. :)

when did you get your first camera?

i got my daughter one for xmas...she is 2 ...it was the second thing on her santa list?? i was like WHAT ...a pink camera? The fisher price ones were like $65 and they were purple...i found a hello kitty one...digital too $30 ...comes with different face plates so cute...funniest thing is its better quality than the 1st digital camera I bought....which is a polariod no lcd screen from walmart i think it was $65...my 1st camera I cant even remember...but I finally got a great camera in 2007 before my trip to belize ...still have it and I love it Sony Cybershot with 16x Zeiss lense it was top of the line for back then...i would love a brandy new one but porbably wait for a big vacation or for my old one to crap out

    I was 6. It was a polaroid.

I now own 10 cameras (8 film, 2 digital), as well as a few broken ones.

    Photography is my passion. ;)

I had tons of disposable camera many many many years ago lol.. But my first real personal digital camera was given to me for my 16th birthday.
  • I'm a grandma and received my first camera when I was probably 10, a Kodak Instamatic1 . I was always fascinated with photography and bought my first 35mm camera with my high school graduation money, and now I'm a full-time professional phtographer! Sooooo, ya never know~
