Anyone juicing?

I bought a book and would like to start to KICKSTART my NEW habits. Kinda like a cleanse.........but i really want to incorporate it into my weekly/daily diet. I LOVE pretty much ALL veggies/fruits, so this shouldn't be an issue. Just need to get the juicer now!

What I'm worried about is my protein levels (i'm not a big meat eater) NOT a vegan - just don't eat a lot of meat & i hate eggs.
I'll probably need to add a protein supplement like whey. I'm worried about the calories/carb levels though.

Any suggestions?

  • I have been juicing for the past 13 days. This was my first time, but I have lost 20 lbs of water weight. Greens contain lots of protein, so be sure to use spinach, lettuces (not iceberg), and other leafy greens. You can mix these with other veggies and fruit. I like spinach with granny smith apples, carrots, celery, and a little fresh ginger. Right now I am drinking red delicious apple and sweet potato juice. Add cinnamon and it is fantastic. I googled juice fast recipes and got a bunch of hits. A word of warning though. Depending on your diet beforehand, you will have side effects the first few days. Day 2 I had a massive all day migraine. Day 3 into day 4 I had awful body aches, like the flu. By day 5 my system had regulated and I was fine, even more energetic than before. Make sure to drink lots of water. I would be happy to answer any of your questions if I can. I was eating the typical American diet before I juiced; fast food, lots of carbs, sodas, etc. Now I am going to the primal diet once I finish my fast, which the last day is tomorrow.
