Everyone has a different philosophy. I have had a really good experience doing High Protein/Low Carb. I find I have more energy and my meals "stick" with me longer.

So right now I'm doing 45% protein, 25% carbs and 30% fat...

Once I switch to maintenance, I'll add in more carbs so my protein and fat percentages will go down comparatively. I prefer to do about 25% fat anyway, but it's hard to do that little on the calories I'm on.

I would love to hear more about this too. Don't know what I should set mine at either.

Oh and I found this article on it that gives some ranges:

Not saying I agree with everything in it, but it's a good starting point for forming your own opinions.

It depends on your activity level and 'sport'. I do a lot of plyometrics (explosive stuff like jumping) and lifting as well as endurance cardio, so I eat 50% carbohydrates, 30% fat, and 20% protein. The carbs and fat spare the protein for muscle repair and provide plenty of energy. If I did less, I'd eat fewer carbohydrates and more protein to keep me feeling full because I'd be eating fewer calories overall.

songbyrdsweet, what's your typical eating day like? When I log in my daily food, it usually works out to 50% carb, 35% protein, 15% fat. I am like you, doing cardio & strength daily. Now that the weather is breaking, I am out on my bike a few days per week. Am I getting enough fat?
