1/2 avocado, boiled egg, multigrain toast
smash together 1/2 avocado & boiled egg (heat a bit)
pile on top of toasted multi-rain thin or bread

Taste like cheesy scrambled eggs on toast

Good protein, good oil, good grain.

I love yogurt for breakfast. I put plain yogurt in a container at night with frozen pineapple tidbits (from trader joes) and the pineapple defrosts pretty nicely in there. I eat it on my way to work. I suggest you pack a spoon the night before too. Plain yogurt with sliced banana and ground flax seed is amazing. Always Cut the banna fresh tho. Yogurt with peach and flax yum. . Also I like smoothies. I put The ingredients in the blender and the put it in the fridge overnight. Then its ready to go in the am. I use kefir and a mix of fruit
    My favorite fruit combos:
    Frozen Raspberries and pineapple
    frozen blueberry and pineapple
Sometimes I like to put baby spinach in my smoothie too
And I love strawberry orange banana. Use some strawberries and half the orange and half banana. Just save the banana and. It the gross part off the next day.
So those are my ideas, if I don't eat yogurt and fruit for breakfast I don't feel healthy
  • Those all sound great ladies!! Now I need to make a trip to the grocery store!!!:)
  • I like to scramble up eggs (or egg whites), then put them on whole wheat mini bagels. They freeze well. Grab on in the morning, microwave then I eat it on the way to work. You can add a lean meat like canadian bacon if you want.

I have two great ones that are filling....from Dukan - the Oat Bran Gallette. Egg whites whipped, 1-2 tbsp low fat yogurt, 2 tbsp oat bran. Whip and then make a pancake in a pan. Really tasty, low in calories and super filling.

If I'm really in a hurry...I mix oat bran with yogurt....fast and filling.

Boring but...I like fresh fruit and a yogurt. Breakfast should be light and just enough to break your fast while sleeping. Plus, the fruit is refreshing and helps me wake up and get the day going.

I make a stack of whole wheat and flax waffles on Sunday afternoon and we toast and top them with yogurt each morning. 350 calories that'll hold us for hours. (and coffee. Can't forget coffee!)
  • I don't know how most people feel about this, but I absolutely love cooking 1/4 cup of lentils for breakfast with an omelet and a piece of fruit. 1/4 cup of lentils has 9 grams of fiber and 9 grams of fiber, so it is pretty awesome and filling! I also think it doesn't need anything with it (I love it plain but I have been putting a tiny bit of ketchup on it along with my omelet).

I keep the Whole Food 365 Instant Organic oatmeal on hand. In particular, the flaxseed flavor. It only takes 90 seconds, it's organic steel cut oats and so yummy.

    Hi,
I love making smoothies so I can take with me, see recipes on www.vitamix.com I have the blender but you can use a less expensive one.
I also make crepes and freeze, you can reheat one, fill with sautee vegetables or a scramble egg with veggies-roll it and take it if you have to eat in the car. I you like the recipe I can send it to you. Also you can try original oatmeal with soybean milk and wheat germ. Yumm!

Breakfast taco: Put a (La Tortilla Factory Smart and Delicious low carb high fiber) corn tortilla in a pan, crack an egg on top, let the egg cook through the tortilla until you can easily flip it. Flip it. Once it's cooked to your liking, fold it with the tortilla part on the outside and put some salsa, hot sauce, cheese, whatever you want on the inside. That's pretty much my favorite.

I have the same thing for breakfast every night when I wake up....

    92g egg whites (2 servings)
    4-6g reduced fat feta cheese
1 toasted Light Thomas's English Muffin

I microwave the eggs and cheese for 1.5 min and then cut it in half and put it on my english muffin for 2 open faced sandwhiches. Delicious.
  • Where do you get those at Resha?
  • Thanks everyone this really helps and stops me from grabbing fast food!! Ilove the idea of making smoothies, omelets and waffles to go!! Yummy!!

i make egg muffins in a big batch and then portion them in bags and in the morning just pop them in the microwave... very easy to eat anywhere and so delicious. you can put anything in them. i usually do:

    15 tablespoons of egg white
    3 whole eggs
    1/2 red pepper diced
    1/4 onion diced
1/4 cup reduced fat shredded mozzarella

mix everything together and pour into mini muffin pan (you could do reg. muffins too) Bake for about 12-15 min at 350

i have even added diced ham and one time i used cooked shrimp, whatever i have on hand. for the recipe above it is 21 calories each so i usually eat 5 of them for breakfast very filling! hope that helps

If you have some extra time on an evening or on the weekend, make up a bunch of healthy breakfast burritos, freeze them individually and then you just pop them in the microwave at home/work when you need breakfast! It works like a charm and you get non-processed, healthy, protein packed meals.

I usually cook a lot of peppers, onions and mushrooms in a skillet and add egg whites to scramble. Then I fill low carb/low cal tortillas with a couple spoonfuls, sprinkle on cheese and salsa, wrap them like a burrito and wrap again in saran wrap and then foil and mark the date and "breakfast burrito" on them. You could also add turkey sausage or turkey bacon to them. Just make sure you take the foil off before you zap them!

    Happy Breakfast!

I've been doing a banana with a whole grain english muffin with peanut butter lately.
I also like doing smoothies in the morning. Then I can drink it on the way to work. :drinker:

Love my Vitamix. I make at least one smoothie a day. I've used the heck out of this thing over the last 10 years or so. Would love to get a new red one, but...... the old one still works fine, and the new ones have gotten really expensive!

Luna bars are usually sold individually in the "health food" section or supplements section of a grocery store... they are DELICIOUS!!!! blue berry bliss tastes like a blue berry poptart, and the Lemon Zest tastes like girl scout cookies, the chocolate covered coconut is like an almond joy!!! they run about $1 per bar, sometimes target has boxes of 6 for $5. I eat one almost everyday, they usually have 170-190 calories per bar, that and some fruit and you are set!!!

    There's a couple things I do when I'm in a rush:

    1. Luna protein bar with 2 tsp on natural peanut butter on top
    2. Put 2 eggs and a tbsp of milk in a coffee mug. Cook in microwave for 30-45 seconds (until cooked). When done, sprinkle the top with a little shredded cheese. So good!
  • these breakfast cookies are really good and freeze well, so you can make a batch and then quickly microwave one to defrost it in the am. they're also easy to make and take less than 30 minutes start to finish to do a batch. http://www.momables.com/oatmeal-breakfast-cookie/

    Dude! Seriously - HAM CUPS!

    1. Spray a muffin tin with Pam or Olive Oil

    2. Line a cup or two with low fat deli ham or turkey

    3. Crack an egg in to each one

    4. Bake on 350, or until egg is cooked

    5. Just before you remove from the oven, sprinkle lightly with grated cheese (I always recommend using a stronger cheese and less of it, if you're a cheese lover). Once melted, remove from the oven.

    6. Serve on a plate with your favorite topping (or none). Salsa is good. With a side of fruit and maybe whole wheat toast if you need your carbs.

TA DAAAAAAAA! Sounds good. I might go make me some!
  • How funny I just posted something else about breakfast in another thread! (it's making me hungry for lunch lol) But if you want a quick and easy breakfast why not try some kind of oatmeal or cereal (dry or with milk) and grab a fruit like a banana or clementine and you can be out the door in no time! You can also add a 50-60 cal string cheese packet (I like Kraft twists mozerella & cheddar or Frigo mozerella light). I know these are all really basic ideas but they work for me so I thought I'd share :). Hope that helps and happy eating!
