His advice is if you are going to eat fruit pair it with a source of protien. For example, I eat a banana and a tablespoon of Natural Peanut Butter. By eating the protein with the fruit the you slow the digestive process and the sugar from the fruit is less likely to affect your insulin level negatively.
I agree! One of my favorite snacks is a pink lady apple with a tablespoon or two of all natural creamy peanut butter to dip it in. I still lose weight and don't have to give up my fruit.0 -
I'm a keto dieter as well, staying under 30g of carbs per day with no fruit involved. My advice would be to enjoy a piece of fruit post-workout, particularly an intense workout involving heavy lifting. One banana would help in reducing the muscle growing pains, and all of the carbs would get used immediately, without knocking you out of ketosis. I wouldn't do it too often though.0
