i'm not big, i never have been, infact i'm whats considered the normal weight for my height (60kg).
however i've always wanted to be smaller, so i can feel more confident with my quite muscular legs. especially with really skinny friends i feel even bigger then i am! however, ever since i have actually decided to stick to losing weight instead of just wanting too i have at times become unhappy.

when ever i lose weight i am over the moon, but when i gain weight i feel like i have failed, and it really gets me down. i don't know whether to keep up with this journey of mine. to make matters worse i was 2 kgs from my goal weight, but slowly managed to put it all back on. physically im healthy, but i really want to be smaller, it just seems that everytime i try i keep failing.. i'm starting to wonder if i just should stop.

i suppose i'm just really confused at the moment, if i'm at a comfortable weight should i stop tracking my food? or just somehow try and find the motivation to finally shed those 5 kilos that i have always so wanted to lose.

    GIve up what?
    - give up wanting to be healthy?
    - give up wanting to be a body shape that you are not?
    - give up relying on the scale for how you feel.

My suggestion would be to give up 2 and 3, but keep working on 1!
Why not keep tracking your food, set your calories at maintenance and experiment with different kinds of exercise - it sounds as though what you want is not really to lose weight, but to tone and firm your muscles. At this point I think it is more about the kind of exercise you do - probably strength training would be best, though I'm no expert.
And, put the scale away and use a tape measure to track your progress for a while - that will give you a break from the annoyance that is the scale and will track body shape not weight.
