does it have anything to do with metabolism? One of my friend told me if your weight stays same through out the the day then it means your metabolism is working fine. If it changes like - increase in the evening - then it means that you have a slow metabolism probably. I am a little confuse.... anyone know how they relate?

Personally I think it's bologna.
Weight fluctuates SO much with water intake and retention, that it's really not possible for weight of fat or muscle to fluctuate that quickly. Don't worry.0 -
Technically the weight you see on the scale can change every time you eat, drink, pee, or poop. Mine changes as much as 5 lbs throughout the day based on these habits. Your friend is not thinking logically. If you weigh 200 lbs and eat a 2 lb plate of food, now your scale is weighing 200 lb you plus your 2 lbs of food you just ate, thus the scale now says 202. Take a 1 lb poop and now it will say 201 b/c you discarded 1 lb of waste from your body. That has nothing to do with metabolism.0

It's definitley bologna. And everythiing else you eat and drink and how much exercise you've done and how often you've been to the bathroom.
Your weight is always going to change during the day and you'll drive yourself nuts if you hop on the scale every few hours!
Weigh in once a week and concentrate on eating well and doing some exercise in between times - you'll get there.0 -
Refer to above posters.. definately NOT true! As said, everything you do in a day changes what number the scale will show. It doesn't have much to do with metabolism and more to do with what you eat, drink, exercise, bathroom breaks etc.0

your friend doesn't know what he's talking about. there is NO FRICKIN' WAY that someone's weight stays the same throughout the day..NO WAY. Step back, forget the person is your friend, and think about it. 5 minutes after you eat a healthy lunch with 16 ounces of water, do you think you're going to weigh the same as you did 5 minutes before you sat down for lunch? NO ONE's metabolism works like that....not even your friend.
weigh yourself first thing in the morning, after using the restroom and before eating....that's where you get the most consistent measurement.0
