Hi Everyone

I am a 28 year old ale looking for friends to share tips and encouragement.

I started on MFP last August at 287lbs but I had previously been a highest weight of 315lbs in 2008 just after i got married. I currently weigh 236lbs and still plan to lose another 35-40 lbs.

Over the last few weeks I have begun to lose motivation (probably down to the temptations of Xmas and new year. Thought it would be good to try and make a few friends that share similar issues and problems that can share hints and tips regarding exercises and foods.

Many thanks for reading.

    Hiya!

Can totally relate to struggling to get going again after xmas, I think I went through a bit of a patch of logging fatigue as I've been on here on MFP for 18 months now! I'm currently 163lbs down from 250lbs - another stone or two to go for me.

Feel like I've got my groove back in this last week or so, have set myself a new challenge for the new year to drink more water as I've really let that slide over the last 6 months or so. I'm feeling better for it already!

Feel free to send me a friend request if you like, my diary is open for food tips but I must admit I'm not a big exerciser!

I did pretty much the same thing. Joined MFP last year and lost about 2 and half stone then lost the plot a bit from November onwards (30th birthday then xmas). I'm really trying to get back into it all now and gewt motivated again!

I'm trying to build back the good habits gradually but determinedly - so not beating myself up too much if I slip up but not making too many excuses for myself either. I'm trying to log my exercise before I do it that way I kind of feel like as it's all written down I really have to! Plus I know how many calories I'll burn which looks good. I just need to get back into good food habits now.

    I'm UK as well

    Best of luck!

I am from the cold North of Scotland where the temptations include Deep Fried Mars Bar (yuck!)

I am currently at 267 lbs but was down to 240 lbs - 18 months ago. I took my eye off recording my food, checking my weight and doing the correct excercise because I got bored and demotivated after 3 years of running. (completing numerous 10k's and 3 half marathons).

I am shaking up my excercise routine and starting to use MFP as my site of choice.

I was 256 lbs at 28 and fairly fit, at my heaviest I was over 350 lbs (late 30's).

The long term effects of this can be devastating and I have pulled back from the brink. (hopefully?)

My goal is to lose around 1lb a week so that I will be around 245lbs by mid year for the big 5 "oh".

Please feel free to add me. Hopefully the background does not put you off.

    Steve
