I did put this topic in fitness and exercise, but no one responded, so thought I'd put it here in the hopes some knowledgeable peoplewill know the answer:

I've just joined a website called http://www.freetrainers.com where you put in some details and they will work out an exercise plan for you. I haven't really looked at it that much, but it is suggesting that you do different muscle groups each day and I was wondering if this is the right sort of thing to do?

Day 1: core and shoulders
Day 2: Core and back
Day 3: Core and legs
Day 4: core and triceps and biceps
Day 5: Core and chest

The workouts are not very long or hard because I've set myself at beginner, I may increase that to intermediate if I find it too easy, but it this right to do one set of muscles per day? Would the muscles exercised on day one not be too relaxed by the following week?

I am happy to do this if it will help. It has to be better than what I'm doing now, which is mostly cardio, some strength (only arms really) and hardly any core...

It is a good idea to work a different area every day so it gives the other areas a chance to rest and recouperate.... or so I've been told. So arms one day, then legs, etc....
