I just checked the stats on my Polar from my workout this morning and it states that my average heart rate was 165 and my maximum heart rate was 238. The average seems right, but the maximum seems unheard of. . . 238!?! I know that during my workout my heart rate was in the 180 range. Thoughts?

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check the settings again. I thought that incorrect settings only affected the accuracy of amount of calories burned.

    Thanks again,

I had a glitch like that last week. I just started walking on the treadmil and it said my heart rate was over 200!!

Stopped it completely, rewet the transmitters on the strap and tightened the strap to make sure it was getting a proper read and when I re-started, it was working fine again.

Make sure you're following the user manual's care and use guide. If you don't have your manual anmore, you can find it on the Polar website pretty easily (if you can't, feel free to send me a message and I'll help).

Thanks! I just used it again and it seems to be working ok. I will test it again with my next cardio workout.
