Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone on here is currently taking Zofran, and if so, do you have any suggestions for managing the headaches and constipation? I know, I know, TMI but I have been having issues, and I am trying to avoid using laxatives and things because I am bulimic.
If I don't take it, I am okay for maybe 2 days then I start vomiting so I'd really like to find a good in between.
Any help is appreciated! Also feel free to add me :)

I don't know about the headache part sorry, but try probiotics for the constipation. It helps put the healthy bacteria back into your intestines and it strengthens your immune system. Drink tons of water and try to get in plenty of fruits, veggies and leafy greens. These all help.

i had to take zofran for hyperemesis when i was pg and i didn't notice a headache or constipation. sorry i can't be of more help. my advice is to call the pharmacist to see if there is something he/she can recommend.

also have you tried phenergan suppositories in lieu of zofran? it's MUCH cheaper and worked VERY WELL for me.

Cheaper? Zofran Rx cost me 10 bucks. Phenergan was the same, I think.
I actually was taken off of the phenergan Rx I was on because that along with my pain medication was knocking me out cold. Probiotics is not the answer here, I'm sure of it. The getting backed up is a common side effect, also the same with the headaches. I was just hoping someone might have some idea instead of taking laxatives, which is what I was told to do. High fiber is a VERY bad idea because it's not a lack of making BM so much as the intestines not working it out, I've had some extremely painful days... lol

I think I might be stuck, unless I can get off of the Zofran! It does such a good job keeping me from getting sick...

I have a similar problem from narcotics so I get it but I don't have an answer for you-- sometimes I take stool softeners but mostly I just try to avoid foods that seem to make it worse.

I was also on Zofran for hyperemesis and I must have had great insurance - I think I paid 14.00 for the bottle!

I do remember the headaches and the constipation, but I also couldn't eat much even on the zofran - it kept me from vomiting, but not from nausea, unfortunately. I lost 15 lbs in my first trimester and was emaciated. It was so scary!!!

The only thing that worked - and man did I hate these - were these ginormous suppositories. IO would go that route since you aren't ingesting laxatives, and you are getting the poop out.
