I'm not a huge cereal fan but if you are going that route check the label for a whole grain option. I prefer one that's very plain too, cause you can add raisins or nuts of fruit on your own and make it different everyday. Also look for a higher fiber count and a lower sugar. :flowerforyou:

I'm not sure if this is the most nutritious or least-calorie combo, but I like to combine 1/2 cup Raisin Bran with just a sprinkle of Mueslix w/almonds and dates, sometimes a little Cherrios and/or Grape Nuts and then a tablespoon of flax seed from the health food store. I usually add about 1/3 cup of skim or 1% milk. Occasionally, I add some fresh berries too.

I love cereal but I don't find it filling and can't stop at just one portion.
My favs are plain cheerios or corn bran. :flowerforyou:

I love Fiber One's Raisin Bran. The serving size is a whole cup, so it's easier to stick to just one portion, and it's only 170 calories. Plus with 11g of fiber, its a great start to the day.

stay away from sugar sweetened ones like frosted mini wheats even though they have fiber. plain that you can add nuts or fruit to are best. Good ole corn flakes or bran flakes are my favorite.

I usually eat Special K, either the regular or the Red Berries kind. I like it, but one bowl doesn't completely fill me up, so I always have fruit with it and sometimes toast.

Anything whole grain with a bit of protein is a good way to go. I prefer Kashi Go Lean Crunch Honey Almond Flax, Kashi U, Kashi Autumn Harvest or Quaker Oatmeal Squares
  • Special K Red Berries is delicious!!! I don't know if it's the least calories or what-not but it's very very yummy!!! and I'm not a big cereal person but I love this, I could eat it every morning!

We're pretty plain at our house. Plain Cheerios, Corn Flakes, or Bran Flakes. And like has already been suggested, I color them up with whatever I have on hand. Almonds in Corn Flakes is fun, or adding fresh juicey raisins to Bran Flakes... If I am craving sweets I will lightly dust Nestle Quick onto Cheerios. I control the amount and therefore the calories.
