Has anyone tried this? Or is this their way to promote their products?

It's a way to promote their products (IMO). For cereal, only ORIGINAL Special K has good protein numbers, all others pale by comparison. Kashi cereals have many varieties (not all) with good protein AND good fiber numbers. A bowl of high protien - high fiber cereal keeps me full longer.
The protein water (gag) .... that may just be me.
Their cereal bars are GOOD (OK maybe too good). I can't keep these in the house anymore than I can keep candy bars in the house. I have to work with lower sugar snacks.0 -
I did it a long time ago when they first starting pimping it out and it worked really well but I got super bored with it...same cereal twice a day...ick! They have much more variety now then they did when it first started.
My friend Jamie just did this and lost 50lbs in like 3-4 months and now she is keeping it off but eating healthy and counting calories like the rest of us on here
If you try it good luck!!0 -
It is basically just a way to promote their products. That isn't saying it doesn't work. All it is doing is restricting calories which is bound to cause weight loss if maintained, there is nothing special about their food. The real question is does the weight stay off and is it maintainable?
I certainly couldn't stay on it. And when you come off of it, you are going to have to make healthy choices and maintain calories at maintaince or below to avoid putting the weight back on. Following their diet does nothing to teach you how to do this. You could achieve the same thing by choosing a variety of foods and counting calories in the beginning instead of eating their food for weeks on end then switching over.0 -
Thanks for your input. They give you a meal plan, which includes their products mostly before breakfast all the thru to the last snack. They do give some recipes for dinner. I think that's what I'll be using from this. I couldn't imaging eating the cereal everyday, it doesn't keep you full at all, I usually have my high fiber oatmeal and a piece of fruit for breakfast.
It's all about resticting calories, which one said, that doesn't make the Special K diet special, but they do give great dinner recipes!0
