Exercising while sick?

Is this a good idea or bad idea? I have heard mixed feelings.
Obviously I wouldn't exercise with a stomach virus or anything like that, but what about a cold with a sore throat and runny nose? Or something similar?
If so, what should you do/not do to avoid feeling bad and possible injury?

Unless I have a fever, I exercise when I have a cold/sore throat/runny nose. But basically I just listen to my body....if I'm not 100% physically, then I will scale back my intensity during the exercise. Just listen to what your body is telling you.0

I would exercise at lower intensity and/or lower volume and I would recommend staying out of the gym as a courtesy to others.0

Hmmm, I just ran 6k and did 50 minutes of weights today, and I have a sore throat (it was screaming sore last night!)... but really, maybe I shouldn't have. I feel good though... go with what your body is telling you...0
