Power foods like oatmeal come to mind.
Protein tends to make the stomach feel better so if you have some Optimum nutrition whey sitting around go ahead and hit a scoop or 2.
Shakes tend to be easy to drink.
1/4 cup oats
1/2 cup of any berry type fruit
1/2 banana
1 scoop whey protein
1 tbsp olive/flax/walnut oil <---dont do all 3. Choose 1 and go from there!0 -
Asia spicy chicken soup....I am telling you, it is awesome. Problem is that you have to either find somewhere that has it or make it, but it is really easy to make and very healthy. The recipe is in group I created, can't remember if your part of it or not. Let me know if you need it.0

What kind of illness? That would make a big difference for me.0

I like rosemary chicken noodle soup. I usually make a regular pot and then toss the broth and veggies on top of spaghetti squash.
I also drink gallons of herbal tea (I love Celestial Seasoning's Wellness Sampler), with honey if you have a cough. Lots of water, too!0 -
Depends on the sick
cold - matzo ball soup or Yook ke Jang (spicy Korean soup)
stomach/gastral issues - beef broth and saltines
strep - nothing
ebola - I don't think it makes a difference....0 -

Agree. For your garden variety common cold, my go-to food is tomato soup & crackers. I guess many folks have their favorite foods when they are ill. If you are having tummy or diarrhea problems, think bland: dry toast, applesauce, jello, plain rice, clear broth, plain tea, ginger ale etc.0 -
Depends on what you're sick with. If you're recovering from a stomach bug, you should eat a primarily liquid diet, but if it's a cold or something else, you can just eat regular foods. My philosophy is to keep it simple when your sick so your body can focus on healing instead of digestion. Avoid anything really spicy, don't eat out (you never know what you're really getting at a restaurant and that could make you more sick), and just try and get as much fruits and veggies as possible to keep your immunity up.
Lots and lots and lots of water is very important also to flush out the germs!0 -
