I can't. The enabler of failure

Little motivational post for the day. Nothing too mind bending but I'd like to you to consider those two words.

"I can't"

Short for

"I cannot do something"

By speaking or thinking these words, you are saying that you fail and that you are resigned to this.

Negative emotions or feelings are very powerful anchors that keep us held under the water, drowning us with their apathy.

Positive thinking is not an easy thing to start doing if you have been mired in the negative for so long, but every journey, even the longest, begins with the first step.

The first step you have is to say "I can".

Sounds cheesy right? As a self-inflicted victim of negative thought for years, I used to roil in hate over the things I "couldn't" do, when all along the power was there for me to do it by simply doing so.

When someone tells you that you cannot do something, remove that person from their position of power over you. Whenever YOU are the one telling you that you cannot do something, remove that person from their position of power over you.

You cannot build Rome in a day, nor can you get in the best shape of your life in a day, but rather through an interconnected set of days where you can do you build the foundation and then the collassus that becomes who you are. You can.

If you want to.

Thank you for sharing this. I grew up in a very negative environment and have worked for years to get myself out of that mentality...definitely a work in progress...but I AM making progress.
