Hello everyone,
My name is Scot and I am 45 years old and 202.5 lbs. I know the point five is a little silly, but my current goal is to get below 200 for now. After that, my next goal is 197, which places me in an overweight BMI category, instead of obese. Ultimately, when I hit 175, I will buy a paddle board and go to the beach more often. My ideal weight would be 165 at 5' 8", or so I have been told.
My wife is an RN and has been into fitness for some time now. I peaked out at 228 a couple of years ago, when I saw a picture of myself and said, "Hey, who's that fat guy?" Well it was me, so I started swimming and got down to 205 briefly and after many laps. After I stopped swimming, I gained my weight back in a hurry. My problem was first overeating and second lack of a consistent exercise routine.
I currently am training at a Taekwondo Kick Boxing Do Jang and workout three days a week. I walk the dog the other days. Using this technique and MFP, I have been able to drop down to my current 202.5! I have made a commitment (contract) to continue my kick boxing and taekwondo for 18 months, gasp! So there's no turning back now...
Please add me as your friend and join my Kick Boxing Tai Kwon Do group. In my group I will be posting workout routines, stretches, kicks, combinations and more. We do a lot of interesting stuff in the Do Jang, and I like to share. I just started posting yesterday, more will be posted to the group soon.
Stay fit,
Scot
