I can keep with my goals alone, but man when I eat with my friends it's horrible; eating out, popcorn at the movies, bringing over chips and pop. I do sooo well alone, but break for junk food, I can't keep it in the house. I love my friends and don't know what to do.

Hate to be harsh, but if you want to continue with your new lifestyle, you HAVE to have willpower. Eating with friends is an extremely social activity (especially in our society), and I think it's really important to learn how to still make good choices when you are out.

Trust me, as a college student, there are constant opportunities to eat the same **** my friends eat, but you know what? I tell myself that I am WORTH making those decisions, that if I want my body to look a certain way and I want to be healthy, then I am the only person who can make that happen, and my friends sure aren't doing anything to stop me.

I think an important thing to ask yourself is that, when you get the healthy option (lets say you are doing sushi and all your buddies get tempura-- and you opt for sashimi)....are you having any less fun? Are you not still enjoying your friends company? You can still do these things without ordering junk. You just have to want it.

I know what you mean. I've been counting calories on another weight loss forum and I was all good Mon-Fri, but come the weekend & it was like ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I just had to plan better for my "cheat days". For example, last Friday we went to a local pizzeria for my hubby's bday. I ate normally all week. But on Fri I made sure I ate dense foods (to fill up) but I could eat less so I could save up for a slice & a glass of wine. The pizza & wine only put me at about 600 cals... Now that's two meals for me on a normal day, but for a special occasion it was worth it & it is not an every week thing that I do either. Nibbled on my spinach salad for the rest of the evening & drank that wine reaaaalllll slow. lol
