So I started drinking this triple leaf brand slim tea and wondered why I was racing to the toilet and suffering from terrible cramps!

I just discovered recently that they have potent laxatives in them!

I don't intend on drinking the tea anymore since discovering this... however it had me wondering...

are laxatives able to assist you in losing weight? how does it work? do you just lose water weight or something?

I can't imagine it would help you lose body fat and what not because the food has obviously been processed by your body and gone down in to your bowel!

lol sorry if this is a gross topic. I am just looking on the net and finding all sorts of answers.

Laxatives only do your body harm. Your body will stop being able to go on its own, and you will become dependent.
BMs are a natural process... don't mess with them!

  • It can be beneficial to read to read ingrediants before you eat or drink things, from looking at images, it looks like it says it contains senna right on the box.

Using laxatives for weight loss is an extremly stupid and potentionally dangerous thing to do. Laxatives will only help you lose the water weight and a bit of stool. It can lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalance which can lead to cramps, shaking, irregular heart beat, stomach ulcers, low sodium levels, headaches etc...

Your body doesn't rehydrate immediatly just by drinking more water so constant use of this dehydrating mechanism can lead you constant dehydration.

Prolonged use of laxatives can lead to your body not being able to go on its own anymore. Also, resistance to laxatives so more is needed to go and medical intervention may be necessary.
