Changing up your calorie goal?

Does anyone vary their daily calorie goal? I know minimum net recommended is 1200... but does anyone go above or below this once in a while on purpose to prevent their body from growing accustomed to it? If so, is it proving successful?

I'm thinking about netting 1200 one day, 1300 the next, 1400 the next and then going back to 1200 and I'd love to know about other peoples' experiences :)
