Running/jogging in place?

If I run or jog in place for like 30 mins a day or even twice...will it help? Or is it pointless....it's winter here and plus I don't have anyone to watch my kids while I jog. :/

I think you're fine as long as your're moving. Just don't overestimate your calorie burn and you're good to go. Good luck :)

Of course it will help!! Any time you move it helps!

I would add in some strength exercises like push ups or lunges to really crank up the calorie burn!! Or if you have stairs in your house you can go up and down the stairs to increase your effort.

    WTG!!
  • You'll get your heart rate up....so is that what your goal is? You could also just do jumping jacks, pushups, burpees, squats....and repeat.

Something is better than nothing, but instead of just jogging in place, try jumping jacks or jumping in place (knees to your chest, or as close as you can get them). See if you can find a plyometrics workout video online to get a decent workout.

I do p90x and Pilates to...I just needed more to add in.
  • No you are still burning calories so that's definitely fine. There are other exercises that you could do at home such as jumping jacks, pushups, leg lifts, squats, crunches/sit-ups, dancing, etc.
