Anyone use any "good" low fat or fat free cheese? I am very picky and can't find too much variety. Thanks

My house are cheeseaholics.. I just use regular sliced and shredded cheese. I make it fit into my calories. I don't believe in fat free because (1) it tastes horrid IMO and (2) you need some fat in your diet, I don't do artificial sweeteners for the same reason. I use mostly Kroger brand but use Kraft when its on sale.

2% cheddar and fat free or low fat feta are both decent. Other than that, no. And I really don't even use those anymore. I weigh my cheese (1.5 ounces per serving) and work the calories in.

I think it depends on what capacity you are using the cheese. Honestly, i only use the low-fat cheese if it is in a recipe. If I am eating as a snack, I enjoy my regular cheese. It's accounted for in my calories, so I think it's ok, especially if it is something you enjoy.

I'm addicted to cheese, so I just try and find the strongest low fat cheese I can so I can still get my cheesy hit!

The only low fat cheese I like is cream cheese, because it spreads easier. Otherwise I use real cheese, and the more flavorful the better (e.g. Cabot Seriously sharp over generic cheddar). I tend to follow more of a French diet-- real food, packed with flavor and nutrients, but just a bit less of it.

I typically use Weight Watchers Pepper Jack cheese slices or Kraft 2% Pepper Jack cheese slices.

Sliced and shredded are not types of cheese people!!!

Brie, cheddar, red leicester, feta, parmasan, camenbert, stilton....

...are all things I can no longer eat...

The world is your oyster on cheese! So many different lovely types!

    I miss cheese.

I thought Cabot Seriously Sharp was awesome until I tried some really expensive, fancy cheddar at a local market. OMG. Cabot's crapin comparison to some of those cheeses. But I can afford Cabbot! lol

I am a life long cheeseaholic. When I was 8, I wanted to move to Wisconsin b/c I loved cheese so much!

I use Sergento Low sodium, and the Great Value 2%. If I need "real" cheese, i like the Kraft deli deluxe 2% or Cabot 75% reduced fat.

Edited to add- I use the reduced fat Feta, laughing cow light, mini baby bel light, and for a real treat, I eat Dubliner--love the stuff!!!

I pretty much feel the same way as lexncheysmomm - depends on the brand but sometimes there's not much of a difference in the fat content or even calories betweeen regular and reduced/low fat cheese and it's worth sacrificing a few calories and fat grams for the taste. Forget about fat free - it's like plastic when melted so I don't even want to think about what it's made of!
