Question, part of me wants to change my starting weight to what it was when I first started, but that was like 6 weeks before I heard of MFP. So I have mixed feelings.I have lost 16.2lbs total, only 6.2 from my start date. I can change my start weight but not the date, I feel like it would be dishonest to have the wrong weight per weeks. Any input?

I just did this, and It makes me feel more accomplished. I started this site about 2 weeks ago, and have lost 10 pounds in that time, but 21 pounds since I started my journey.... I feel more motivated since changing it. And to do this you just go to "check in" and "edit previous entries"0

Do what makes you feel the most motivated. Congrats on the 16 lb by the way. This site is awesome because it's not a "hall monitor". It is a tool just for YOU personally, so make it work for you. We will celebrate ALL your weight loss, no matter when or where it started. The fact that you are here and still working it and encouraging us is all we care about.0

Yes, change the date - just remove all your previous entries, then reenter them with the correct date.0

I just did this when I restarted MFP. My thoughts are that this is a tool to help me make the changes I want to make. It would be great if I somehow help other people make changes, too. But, for me, seeing the larger loss number makes me feel more motivated. So, my advice would be to do what feels best for you. This really is all about you! If adding in the extra loss motivates you, go for it. You really have lost that weight, just not using this site....0

I've done it the other way, I lost 33lbs over 18 months, then maintained that for 6. I've started again in January, and reset my counter to 0. I know what I have achieved and I'm really proud of it. It all depends what YOU need to motivate you.0

If you lost the weight...............it is your right to change the weight on your site. It will more than likely give you the extra umph you need to lose more:bigsmile:0

I lost 270 lbs. before I started using MFP a few months back and yes I set my starting weight at where my journey began. I am proud of my accomplishments and you should be too... Congrats on your weightloss!! :drinker:0

I did the same thing as ScubyUK, though for different reasons. I lost a bunch of weight last year, but stopped tracking and holding myself accountable during the holidays and gained back four pounds. I reset my starting weight to my January 1 weight to reset my ticker, but edited my profile to keep track of the overall numbers there.
Do whatever feels right, honest, and motivating to you... and feel free to switch things up if that changes later on!0
