For the ladies- what supplements do you take?

So I am just jumping into this supplements thing. My husband has told me sooo many different things about what to take and when. What kinds there are etc. I am way more confused than I was when I originally thought okay I'll add this to my diet no problem! He is a fitness buff, but with this I just feel like I need a women's perspective here!! So I think based on what I have read, and what my hubby said would be a good idea I will go with I will most likely add some sort of protein shake (whey and also the slow digesting one for nights before bed), creatine, some sort of branched chained amino acids, a fish oil or flaxseed oil, and some glutamine.

I already plan on adding a calcium supplement because cutting out my cheese craving has dropped down my calcium levels. And as of right now I know it is too low. Now I know there are a tons of different amino acids that do different things depending on which ones you specifically add.

So my question would be what do you use/take. What is do the things you take "do" exactly. And what kind of results have you gotten from them? I am looking to build muscle tone here a little faster than I did last time around when I was pretty toned. I feel like that tone is now long gone and I want it back; so just wondering what everyone else uses!! Any advice would be awesome, as I am completely lost here :)

I use (from GNC) Pro Performance AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 - Chocolate and Women's Ultra Mega Green. The first is a whey protein that I use post-workout (says to use 3 scoops but I use 2), and the other is a multivitamin/antioxidant blend for general health. I'm still starting out so I couldn't really tell you how they work long-term, but I know that they seem to make a difference in how I'm feeling.

I should probably add in some Omega 3 and potassium (mine's always low); just have to remember to do it.

I am hypothyroid, so my supplements are more geared towards helping balance that out. I take a super B vitamin, Omegas, and biotin as well as a basic women's vitamin. I am considering adding a calcium/vit D supplement since I don't get enough of that. And potassium. I just realized (today) that I am way under on that every single day. So I'll adjust my diet, but I'll also be looking for a good supplement to help out.
