Hello everyone. I am new to this. I have been overweight my whole life. I love food, all kinds of food. I love to eat. It gives me a high. I need food eaters anonymous. LOL! I am at my highest weight ever. I currently weigh 310.1 lbs. Last week, I had an ephiney. A smaller me. I do not want to go under the knife, as I can do this. I have the mental capacity and the energy. I am also motivated. I need other peoples motivation, pictures and success stories. My first step last Wednesday was going to the gym. A lot of people tell me that is the first step, just going. I have gone 7 out of the last 8 days. I feel great! Really great! But this morning, I woke at 5:15 and went. I hit a wall on the treamill. Why? I had lost my motivation. I could not do my jog, I would jog for about 4-6minutes. Pushing myself. Today, nope.

Help? Recommendations?

Thanks!!!

We can do this. Get some friends on MFP. Friend request me, if you'd like. Keep posting. Read the message boards. Do something every day, even if it doesn't seem like enough. I know you can do this because you said you can.
  • I'm so proud of you for making this life changing decision! :) My name is Mandy and I would like to loose 40 pounds (or more). I am also a food addict. I find myself eating even when I'm not hungry. It's honestly like a timer! As soon as it turns noon I think I need to eat something. Most of the time, I am not hungry but I suppose it's just something to do.
I'm not going to try and tell you that you need to keep your goal in sight and that that will help you stay motivated. That never helps! hahaha... what I will tell you is to try and cross train. By that I mean try going to some of the fitness classes that your gym offers. It is a fun way to burn calories. Zumba is great! I go to zumba 2-3 times a week outside of my regular work out schedule. I hope this helps and the hardest thing is to get yourself to the gym. The hardest part for me is to actually walk out the door of my house. Who wants to leave their cozy warm house while it's snowing outside? Not this girl!
  • Hey there I am starting off as well but this site makes it alot easier. just use all the tools the site offers and the people here will help encourage you.
  • Thanks everyone! I am hopeful! Zumba might be good... I need to look into it. My "diet" is as I stated where I fail. I crave food, but the interesting thing about it is that I can eat and enjoy eating all kinds of things including healthy things. I believe going to Weight Watchers might be something I should do. What are your feelings on that?

    Thanks so much!!

  • Hi...welcome to MFP. I found this site purely by accident on January 1st, but had decided to make healthy life changes after being diagnosed with type II diabetes in October. I keep my food diary religiously and have lost 25 pounds just through dieting, but still haven't been able to motivate myself to exercise. How did you get yourself to the gym??
