Counting calories...

I have a friend who is very fit. She doesn't count her fruit and veggie cals because she feels the good out-weighs the bad. What do you think? Should I log them? Shouldn't I?

To get an accurate number of calories that you're eating, you should log EVERYTHING. At least, that's my opinion.0

If she is, as you say, "very fit", she is likely okay with not counting those calories, because she's doing better at listening to her body (even subconsciously), and not overeating. So, somewhere her brain is 'logging' them, even if it's not exact down to the calorie.
If you're just starting out, log them. Every. Time.0 -
Keep in mind that everyone's body is different.
With that said, for me, I log everything because I'm new at this. It's nice because sometimes I'm very surprised with something I think is "healthy" and it turns out it's actually not the greatest food choice.
I'm in favor of nonstop fruit and veggies as they're very good for you. But in moderation....
Since logging my foods, I've actually started replacing things. Instead of beef I use turkey. I try to cut out bread but once in a while I'll have some toast. I've put more veggies in my diet than I have fruits due to the sugar. Plus I'm bad at eating veggies so I started doing 'green' smoothies. I've cut out soda and do green tea or water.
But I never would have done this if I hadn't seen the calories and sugar and fat with my own eyes on MFP.0 -
I still try and log every single thing I eat-even the fruits/veggies. Probably especially the fruits-they can have a lot of calories!0

Fruits are high in calories so they should be counted. Most vegitables are lower in calories so they don't make a huge impact, but should still be counted. The only thing I don't count is the 5 calorie stick of gum, maybe 1 or 2 a day.0

Thanks, all. And my friend from work is stunningly beautiful (inside too!) but I do still log my fruits and veggies every single day. Just wanted to know what the consensus was for others. (Especially after learning the bag of grapes I got together for myself this morning ate up 165 of my calories for the day.) Good thing a I had a good workout!0

Some people can do that, most of us can't. I count everything. :flowerforyou:0
