I just tried something new with chicken and absolutley LOVE it. I want to incoorperate it into one of my meal every day. Is this ok to do? I read somewhere about tricking your body and switching things up. I like consistency.

I plan to eat a lot more white fish, tuna, and chicken. Right now its mainly beef *yuck*.

Anyways, any advice would help. For lunch today I made this awesome chicken fried in olive oil on the stove. Just lightly seasoned with garlic salt and lemon pepper. I tossed it in a salad with 2 tbs sundried tomato and oregano dressing.

i don't see why you could not eat some chicken everyday if that is what you want and it fits within your calorie goals.
  • Chicken is the only meat I eat and will have it at least 4 times a week
  • Chicken is a great source of lean protein but you have to watch the sodium. I just learned this yesterday about the high levels. I think I just wanted to be oblivious to the amount of sodium in chicken, but it is a great source of protein! :)

chicken is versatile enough that you could have it everyday for a year and not have the same meal twice... i eat 12-20 pounds of it a month.... and im far from sick of it.. lol

that said.. i like beef too. how can you say *yuck* to that?! you must be cooking it wrong. lol.
  • i dont see why not, chicken is very good for you! as long as u are getting a balanced diet i dont see why not! If you want any chicken recipies let me know!

As long as your switiching it up a bit cuz otherwise your not going to be getting the proper nutrients....its never a good idea to eat the same food everyday, but eat it for awhile, get sick of it and find something new...thats wut I do haha

I eat chicken almost every single day, sometimes two or three times :) So long as you don't get bored... Go for it!

umm, an entire POUND of chicken has about 760mg of sodium.... the minimum reccomended amount may be 500mg, but
the max recommendation for sodium intake is less than 2,300 mg/day.... 760 (if you eat a POUND of chicken) is not alot for a meat dish at all.
considering most people eat far less then that, you'll find that chicken is a fairly low sodium food.
  • Thanks for all this info everyone!

I eat chicken nearly everyday. Some days I put it in salad, some days I put it over rice plain or make a stir fry. Sometimes I make tacos and sometimes I just bake it and eat it plain. Many different possibilities.

I eat chicken breasts almost every day.
    Chicken fajita
    chicken soup
    baked chicken
chicken pizza ( I ground chicken breast, and use it as the pizza dough since I do low cab)
    Kabob chicken
Stir fry chicken (There is a video on healthy orange chicken on allrecipe.com)
    Stew chicken

Since I can't afford grass fed beef, I get Foster chicken.
Beside instead of buying beef I rather spend that money on wild salmon

Yep, chicken is awesome. It's a complete protein source so has all the bits of protein you need. I get through over a kg a week of chicken breast :)
