The Coffee/Latte Question

:drinker:  I'm a coffee snob and belieive coffee is made to drink black, everything else is dessert. That being said if you spend the extra mula and find a better grade of coffee you'll probably enjoy it straight up nothing added. It's worth it to invest in a grinder for 15 bucks at Wally World and get a whole bean and grind as you go. Best way to drink it in my probably biased opinion is to make a 4 shot espresso and pour it in a cup, add some hot water to finish filling up the cup. I hear that cup calling my name, gotta go. Good luck, but don't give up coffee, it's manna from heaven. :drinker:0

I only drink black coffee. But, it's easy because I prefer it that way.0

I just discovered a yummy alternative to milk/cream in coffee - Blue Diamond Almond Breeze unsweetened Almond and Coconut milk blend. It's soooo yummy and way more creamy than you'd think. I wasn't sure about the unsweetened part but I think the coconut milk gives it a natural sweetness. AND it's low in calories and carbs/sugars!0

I'm exactly the same way! I tried alternatives to my normal morning brew but I found I wasn't enjoying it - life's too short to drink bad coffee :drinker: Just factor it in your daily caloric routine and enjoy it!0

I had to switch to black. However..I make it at home and add a little bit of cinnamon to the grounds and it cuts the bitterness. I've also added unsweetened Vanilla almond milk from time to time. I'll treat myself to a flavored creamer (average 35 Cals per TB on most of the powdered one) from time to time. Either with the almond milk or alone. I rarely use a full TB and just cut calories somewhere else. I always thougth black coffee was horrible, but when I started MFP and realized how many calories were in flavored coffees (whether at home or out), I make myself acquire the taste by reducing creamer little by little. It worked and now black coffee is fine to my taste buds. All I really need is the caffeine anyway! :drinker:0

I bought a french press. French press coffee is so much better and I only need a small amt of sweetener for less than 30 cals. Then i save my lattes for days I work out hard- swimming for 30 minutes=530 cals or coffee calories ;-)0

I have not changed aything about my morning coffee and do not intend to. I like it really sweet and really white. 1 cup is about 75 calories but I just fit it into my day. No big deal and it has not hindered my weight loss at all.0

I make my own coffee add 4oz almond milk (chocolate or vanilla) a few pumps of starbucks sugarfree caramel syrup. Delicious and only 20ish calories for 16oz.0

I drink the flavored coffees out of my Keurig. 3 calories for each kcup and I use the International Delight fat free creamer which is 30 or so calories and between the flavored coffee and the creamer I don't need sugar.0

I don't drink coffee, but am lucky to leave starbucks with something under 400cals. I take one of their smoothies and use it as a meal (double protein).
Otherwise, there's too much garbo that pushes the 400-600cal range. That's more of a full meal to me. When something is close to a quarter, or a third of what i eat, i'd rather it be food than drink.
I have this thing against drinking my calories (unless its to replace meals when I'm out on the move, or working half the day).
Some ppl at work take 3 or 4 sugars. In 3 or 4 cups..... Crazies.0
