All three of My children are sick
one has brochitis one has pneumonia and I am taking my youngest to the dr tonight with a fever and cough. any how....last night I started to get sick my, my chest hurts and when I cough it burns and is sort or flemmy. I have been working out three times a day 60 minutes of circuit training ( Jillian Micheals 30ds and Cindy Crawford New Dimensions) and then 20 minutes for kick boxing. Today I was doing my Jillian Micheals and I felt like I wanted to die, I tried switching to a smaller weight but even still I ached in the wrong way. My question is do I muscle through or just ease back until I am feeling better? What do you do?

Was just way sick yesterday (and the day before etc....) I am just doing a less body stressing workout (Callanetics) since 30ds made me lightheaded in the first few minutes. I still haven't kept much down so that's probably part of it. Rather be safe than sorry0

Ease back your body needs its energy to fight this off. If you try to muscle through you will probably get sicker, or take longer to recover.0

okay to work out some if symptoms are neck and above... should rest if the symptoms are below the neck. you body needs energy to heal.0

Ditto. I've been struggling with that this week, also. Listen to your body, do what you can, but if your body is hurting or is exhausted, ease off or take a break. Like others have said, your body needs energy to heal!!0

I usually do light cardio, mostly cause I feel super lazy if I sit around all day.
I don't do stuff that requires a lot of heavy lifting or really high heart rate. I kinda feel that'll lengthen the time it takes for my body to recover from the sickness.
I wouldn't overexert myself if I were you, and you should bounce back in 2 or 3 days.
Just eat normally, rest up and you won't hinder your progress any.0 -
Do what your body tells you? From what you have written it sounds like you need to rest. I'm currently sick and so not ready to head back to the gym, cough (phelgm), congested, and runny nose. I work with physicians and they always seem to say do what you think you can handle.0

REST!!! You can make yourself sicker if you don't listen to your body. Taking a few days to recover won't kill your progress.0

Thank you every one. Sorry I was not back on last night to respond my son has an infection as well and by the time we got home from the dr he was super grumpy. I think I will rest a couple of days, I woke up with that clamy disgusting feeling a sore body and pounding headache.0
