Results delay, anyone else notice this?

I've jumped back into my routines that I didn't have time for during December and I haven't dropped a pound yet despite some intense exercising over the last three days (+800 calorie workouts according to the macine). I noticed this throughout last year. After that first big weight loss, my body goes into this "delayed results" pattern. When I work out really hard this week, I don't see the drop until next week. If I go lighter this week, I'll still drop from my routine the previous week. Anyone else notice this pattern after you've been exercising for a while?
