Six Meals a Day

I have been in a slump for months and just recently got started on here.
What I am trying is six small meals a day. I went into the settings and actually changed it to read morning, mid-morning, lunch, mid-afternoon, and so forth, including an evening snack. Knowing myself the way I do, I have to have a small snack after dinner. I'm hoping this will help as long as I keep the calories the same and the nutrition the same. So far, I feel like I'm eating all day and actually feel less bloated. But I haven't yet reached the first week weigh in so that will tell a lot more.

I also am awaiting a surgery that has to do with digestion and so the doctor recommended smaller meals. Would love to hear if anyone else has positive things to say about spreading out the day this way. I lost 35 lbs. a year ago on Weight Watchers but still have 45 to go.
I'm hopeful this site is going to aid me because I just love how easy it is to navigate.

Welcome to MFP! I hope you enjoy your time here and it helps you to succeed in your weightloss journey.

I do 3 meals, 3 snacks. So my eating is also broken down into 6 times daily. I like it and it has worked to keep my energy level up. I never feel deprived. Especially since I like a desert or snack in the evening.
I think changes in our eating/exercise has to be something we can do long term. That's what I like so much about this. It is a lifestyle not a diet that you gain the weight back after you go off.

I hope your surgery goes well:flowerforyou:
  • Thank you so much. Yes, I feel doing it this way is going to be a great long term solution. Before, I would get so hungry between meals and usually reach for the wrong snack! I hope to be able to find a way to do this even during vacations, holidays, etc..
