Depends on many factors, mainly diet. If you keep to a strict diet then you'll start to see results in a week or so. However, your genetics play a part too. Unfortunately every male in my family, including me, holds weight in their stomach and its usually the last weight to go.0

I hope not years, it all depends on how hard you are working out etc if you are strict you will notice changes in a matter of weeks but that is being strict with food and excersise x0

I agree with the fuzz, everyone loses fat in different places so it's hard to give you a single answer. I'm finding that a similar regime is toning up my upper abdomen fairly quickly, but having little or no impact on my lower abdomen. In my case, that may have a lot to do with 2 c-sections, but I find abdominal exercises really really painful so I think my muscles are just rubbish in that area.
It also depends on how much is fat and how much is untoned muscle, your muscles may tone up, but the fat not burn off, giving some improvement, but not as much as you want.

lol ya sorry..but i dont know how much body fat % you have, or what you mean by 'tone up'.
to me 'tone up' means seeing ab muscles..that six pack. for women to do this they need to get down to around 15% body fat. this is very hard to do while trying to maintain muscle mass. you can lose weight fast sure, but your not only losing fat but muscle and you'll never have a 'toned' look.
i've been trying to build muscle and lose body fat for the past year. i've yet to see ab muscles. of course i still have some body fat, but i did just get off a bulk. so ya it takes time to 'tone' up. because you need to lose body fat to reveal those muscles underneath. but if you cut your calories so drastically to slim down you run the risk of losing muscle mass..and you'll never have that 'toned' ab. since it takes time to cut body fat and retain muscle because you dont drop calories so much, so you dont lose weight fast. so ya..it could take years.
you cant tone muscle..you either build it or lose it. toning refers to losing body fat to see muscle definition. women especially hold their fat in the middle section. ab, thighs, butt.0 -
yeah, I agree with fuzz too. There are alot of factors that come into play here. Probably the biggest or 1 of the biggest is your diet. Ive always heard that abs are made in the kitchen meaning obviously those stomach muscles arent going to show with a layer of fat on em But alot depends on how clean you eat. People say and I agree that belly fat is the last to go.0

It's a marathon not a sprint (they're both races) [/pedantry :flowerforyou:0
