For over 2 weeks now I have been religiously logging my food and exercise. I have been eating cleaner and I have started 30 Day Shred and have been going to the gym. I have been really proud of myself and even lost 4 pounds. For the past 2 days I weighed myself in the morning and to my horror, this morning I gained 2 pounds.....
I'm frustrated and kind of confused. I almost cried this morning.....
Why am I gaining weight back?

Scale is funny thing.. so many things affect our weight on an hourly basis- are you weighing your self at the same time after the same routine-- you also may be retaining water--did you eat a lot of sodium recently, are any of your muscles sore-- both will cause water retention-- and 2lbs of water is nothing.. I have put on 3-4 lbs over night after a high sodium meal, and likewise have put on 3lbs every time a start a new strength resistance programs...this will slowly come off in a couple of days- drink lots of water...a better guage is how your clothes or fitting, or your measurements... while i weigh myself daily out of curiosity, I don't stress over sudden gains, I only track once a week, and stress over slow modest gains-- they are usually fat....
Thank you for the reply. My legs have been killing me for 3 days because of 30 Day Shred, yesterday I could barely walk...... Might be part of the cause of water retention then.0 -
I weigh myself every day and will probably never stop. The times I gain weight are the periods when I avoid the scale.
However, if you cannot get used to the variations in weight, you should probably stick to weighing yourself once a week. Some people get really demotivated seeing the scale go up one lb.
Madroch is probably right about your muscles retaining water or is is close to TOM.0
