I am from the UK and really want to find a substitue for butter that isn't Flora Lighter than Light (mostly water and no buttery flavour)

So I found Butter Buds for sale on Amazon.co.uk costing a whopping £12.99 for 4 x 2oz shakers....+ delivery cost!

Is it worth me buying, does it taste like butter or is it artificial tasting and horrible?

I had that a looooong time ago. I remember it being gross. I don't currently use any butter substitute. I feel like using a little big of real butter has to be better than all the chemicals in fake butters.

Though I am slightly dubious, apparently according to the one and only reviewer for this product:

"I have used Butter Buds for many years, and since living in the UK have brought them with me from visits to the US. Now I find that they are available HERE in the UK! I highly recommend Butter Buds to anyone watcing cholesterol and fat for medical reasons AND to anyone just wanting to cut back fat in the diet without losing the pleasure of a buttery taste. The ingredients are not harmful, in fact they come from natural sources. "
  • I use Butter Buds. It's a pretty good alternative and an easy step into better eating habits. I particularly like to use it on baked potatoes, which as of yet I cannot convince myself to eat without "butter."
