Yesterday I went over in my proteins but was under in fat and calories. Is too much protein a bad thing in this case? When does it become an issue? Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

  • Aimee, I think that you are okay! I know lots of days I come no where near some of the totals (like fat grams, carbs, etc..) and if I go over on anything, it is usually protein or fiber. You are fine. I think these are in essence guidelines, so you do not want to make a habit of going over, but if you go over on something, I think protein and fiber would be the best ones to do it on. As long as you are not going over by huge amounts, you are good!

Proteins are the basic building blocks of the human body. They are made up of amino acids, and help build muscles, blood, skin, hair, nails and internal organs. Next to water, protein is the most plentiful substance in the body, and most of it (around 60% to 70%) is located in the skeletal muscles. (I found that part online)
