I went to see my doctor this morning for a periodic checkup. This is the first time I have seen her since starting with MFP. She was amazed and elated at my progress thus far since she has been after me for years to lose weight.
The good news is, my blood pressure is in a normal range so she lowered the dosage on my BP meds. I have been on meds for hypertension for over 10 years. She urged me to continue with the weight loss and there is a good chance I can go on an even lower dose, or eliminate the meds altogether when I go back for my next checkup in 4 months.
She also asked me how I had been able to lose the weight and I told her about MFP. She plans to look it over and may start recommending it to other patients!

That's good news. Hopefully you can get off the medications altogether.
I also lost weight because my doc said it was the first thing to do to avoid diabetes. He was tickled when he saw me the first time after I had dropped about 15 lbs (I didn't have much more to lose, but the studies have shown that losing even 5% of body weight affects diabetes risk.) I have told a couple of my doctors about MFP - but everybody has to do what works for THEM, ya know?0 -
My endocrinologist had the same reaction!0

NSV= Non-scale victory. Don't worry, I had to ask also.0 -
