MFP calorie calculator not adding back calories for exercise

Hey all,

Has anyone played around with this? I took the MFP goal calculator and started changing up the exercise plans and noticed the daily goal for calorie intake isn't changing.

I checked the other websites and everyone's pretty close to my daily calorie goal. 6'2", 220 lbs. 32 years old sedentary lifestyle. BMI is 2,158 daily calorie goal is 2,520. (2,158 x 1.2 according to the Harris Benedict Equation)

A pound of fat is equivalent to 3,500 calories. If you want to lose 1 lb in a week, you have to subtract 3,500 calories from your weekly total. Example: 1 week at 2,520 calories per day is 17,640 calories - 3,500 calories (1lb weight loss in 1 week) = 2,020 calories per day goal. Shorthand form is to reduce 500 calories per day to lose 1 lb per week.

That calculates ok; however If I change my exercise routine at the bottom to anything the daily calorie goal doesn't change. Even if its nothing or 7 days per week and 60 minute workouts.

What that means is that MFP's goal of 2,020 calories per day will not be sufficient if I work out. That value needs to be increased by your workout regimine. If you burn 500 calories per workout and you workout 3 times per week, that's 1,500 calories per week that you need to ADD back. If you don't, you run the risk of endangering your body (ESPECIALLY if you go below 1,200 calories in a day) or having your body go into "starvation mode" if you take it too far.

(For those keeping track the daily intake goal should be 2,020 + 214 calories when I'm exercising as described above.)

I'm only pointing this out because others, like myself have found themselves getting lightheaded & being VERY hungry all day.
