Steel Cut Oats - How do I love thee?

Options
I just wanted to pen a little love letter to steel cut oats, if I may.

SCOs, you fill me up, asking nothing in return.
You warm me up on a cold winter morning (high of 76 in North Texas today).
You keep me from snacking in the morning.
You keep my breakfast calories low.
After only 15 short minutes, you emerge a chewy satisfying meal.
You provide sustenance and nutrition at $.99/lb at Sprouts (which flies in the face of those who complain that eating sensibly is too expensive).
Without getting as mushy as instant oatmeal, this is the start of a glorious relationship.

I too love Steel Cut Oats. I'm glad you mentioned they were $.99/lb at Sprouts. I live in Plano and have been paying way more than that for the Quaker brand at Wally World.

I started out with just cinnamon and brown sugar, but I have been putting in a half cup of blueberries. Really great stuff.

I don't know if that is the price always. I don't think it was on sale. It is in the bulk bins.
