You don't need the starches or the carbs! Just do the meat and low-carb veg.
  • good options for slow digestive carbs are ; oatmeal, brown or wild rice, sweet potatoes, egg noodles. Do not count veg as a carb, my mottow is "you want to be lean ?, eat green" all green veg are fantastic.

    just my opinion.

    good luck.

Baked potatoes, whole wheat bread (there are ones with slices =<50 cal per slice), whole wheat pastas (1 serving about 1 cup usually not too bad w/ marinara sauce), brown rice (Trader Joes has instant that is very low cal and yummy), Special K Cracker Crisps (30 chips = 110 cal), Small Pita or Low Fat Crackers + Hummus or Almond Butter or Nutella. The list goes on and on. Enjoy!

Correction: You don't need the carbs if you don't exercise or lead an active lifestyle. I tried going low-to-no carb before while exercising 3-4 times a week, which included cardio (running and biking)...really messed me up.

This is not good advice because the carbohydrates are needed to slow down the protien sythesis that occurs after exercise. Opt for whole grains, brown rice, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes (in moderation)

    My go to carbs:

    Sweet potatotes
    Potatoes
    Brown Rice
    Whole wheat pasta
    Oatmeal pancakes
    Oatmeal
Some breads, ideally whole wheat, non-bleached flour

You actually need carbs to lose weight. Try comboing good carbs with high protein to get the maximum benefit.

^^ agreed, these things are very important to include! I also like dream field pasta, it's only like 5 grams of carbs per serving and tastes just like regular old pasta. Stay away from the refined/quick digesting carbs and stick the things Matt K stated above.

Personally,,,i think it depends on if you have any health conditions. If you don't..stay with whole grains. If you do, like me..(PCOS,IR) i stay away from all grains. My carbs come from my fruits and veg's.. Nothing artificial.

And the processed stuff..regardless of your health condition aren't good for you..too many chemicals..as well as sodium
