Maintenance Mind Games

I hit goal in September and then decided I needed a buffer so I wouldn't get down if my weight fluctuated a bit. Finally got my 4-pound buffer before Christmas. Christmas came and went and so did my buffer. Now I'm struggling again. Why can't I just be happy to have lost 44 pounds? Just wondering if there's anyone else going through the same thing and some ideas to counteract the mind games.

I have said many times and feel it still. Maintenance is harder than losing. it kinda feels like the end all. And the comments from people don't end, but the praises for the losing does. It's definitely a mind game. I was telling my husband yesterday, that I can't just settle, I have to keep striving to reach goals, even if they aren't weight loss goals, but if weight loss occurs, that's fine. I still have to continue to work on my fitness level, and hopefully getting more lean. I still have some fat to get rid of, but I would imagine that if I had that gone, I would be feeling like Now what? For me it's been 3 years I have been doing this, it's hard to switch up my mindset.0
