I'm Brooke - 32 year old mom to two boys (age 5 and 3).

During my senior year in college, I found a picture of myself from the previous year and thought, WTH? My mom had been on Weight Watchers for a while, but it never felt like the right time for me. After seeing that picture, it was suddenly the right time.

I joined WW in March 2002 and met my goal by October 2002 - down 30lbs to 140. I maintained that for a couple of years, but then in 2004 got married, went on a honeymoon, got a new job, started my Masters program, moved...yeah, the weight slowly came back because I quit taking care of myself. in 2006 I had my first son, and while I got back to my pre-pregnancy weight I didn't go any lower because I thought "I know I'll be having another baby, what's the point right now." So I maintained that weight, then had my 2nd boy in 2009. Got back down to pre-preg weight but then was too tired to take care of myself. I was a stay at home mom and too busy with the boys to take care of myself, again.

I went back to work in Nov. 2010 and had a lot of adjusting to do with that. I tried WW, but for some reason their new program wasn't working for me.

This December I decided it was time for me to find time for myself. I started running on April 19, 2011 using c25k. I'm now working towards a half marathon (Indy 500 mini marathon), which is in May. Despite the running, I was losing NOTHING. I'd come home from a run and eat too much because I'd be starving. Oh, I did gain a butt. haha Even though I'm the same weight I was last winter, I can't fit into the jeans because of my butt. Yeah, nice, right? :p

So, the weight needs to come off. I'm on another board and we're doing a weight loss challenge.

I got the MFP app, set it up and have been following for almost 3 weeks now. I've lost 5.5lbs. I run 3x a week and last week I added in ripped in 30, although I only do it on my non-run days, and I take one a day a week completely off from exercise.

I've learned that I'm not STARVING after a run, just need to replace what I burned, and how to eat the calories I burned without going overboard.

My goal is to be back to 140, although I said if my body looked better, I'd be happy with a higher number.

So, that's me...ready to be healthy and happy.
