Has anyone used this DVD? Did you like it? What were your results? I just have a tiny bit of flab to get rid of and I want to get really toned...I'm almost done with the 30 day shred and really thinking about doing NMTZ bc it's supposed to be mainly strength. I think I should actually lay off the cardio bc I don't want to lose any weight/muscle.
Also I'm new to exercising and if you have any advice on how to tone/gain a little muscle without losing any weight I would love for you to share that with me.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated!!
EDIT: I'm not looking to get bulky or really ripped...just feminine tone!

Lift heavy weight, like your life depends on itany advice on how to tone/gain a little muscle without losing any weight I would love for you to share that with me
You will have to gain weight in order to gain muscleI'm not looking to get bulky or really ripped...just feminine tone!
You can't get bulky unless you are taking steroids, you don't have the testosterone profile of a man, even then for a man to get "bulky" it would take him a good year of proper eating and lifting style0 -
I have to lift heavy to get this kind of body? I don't have anything against lifting, but I don't own heavy weights and I live out in a rural area and have a small child so the gym isn't really an option for me. Is there any way to achieve this with body resistance/3-8lb weights?0 -
Yes, I have NMTZ - it is killer. I alternate between the first 4 circuits and the last 4, always getting in the core circuit in the middle. I do the warm up and cool down every time. I was using 4lb weights in 30DS but so far can only manage 3lb with NMTZ. Good luck!0

Can't say I look like the blond girl 2 posts ahead of me leaning on the medicine ball, but I do love NMTZ and think its great for toning. One of Jillian's best!0

Interested to read the responses. I love NMTZ but right now I am working out to ChaLean Extreme...0

I have this dvd and it's really fun! I enjoy it and use it on days when I feel very energetic because the first circuit makes me want to lay on the floor and give in, but after the first circuit it doesn't get easier physically but it is easier to do. It's hard to explain. My results from that dvd were based on the 30day slimdown, I didn't just use that dvd. I lost maybe 7lbs but my tight jeans became my fat jeans by the end of the 30 days. Unfortunate that I put weight back on really, I am now wearing those jeans as my normal jeans again!
I don't think you can get that body with those kind of light weights, but you can get heavier dumbells and do it that way. Addison's right, you can't really get bulky unless you're seriously lifting really heavy weights daily, and maybe taking steroids. If you start looking bulky, it's likely that you're building muscle and it's pushing the fat up, once you lose that fat you'll look smaller.0 -

Weights will get you there faster, but if that isn't an option for you check out the following:
Youtube: Body Rock TV - She is amazing at (mostly) body weight exercises and close to this body but stronger.
Book: Convict Conditioning, if you are a book nerd and like to do things yourself this is a great read/program lots of body weight and lots of room for progression.0 -
Thanks for the responses. They've been really helpful. I've heard of bodyrock.tv and have been meaning to check it out. Maybe that's what I'll go with. I'll look into it for sure.0

Just so you know though, this level of fitness calls for exactness in diet, and a LOT of determination.0

I like NMTZ a lot, but I wouldn't use only that. It's good to mix things up a bit, both to relieve the boredom and to keep your body guessing.0

It's actually been pretty attainable for me so far...I'm not too far off from that girl's body and I've been only been working out/eating cleanish since dec 28. I don't have to look exactly like that, but I'll be damn close.0

Have you tried her Ripped in 30?? It's more challenging than Shred, I really like it.0

NMTZ is fantastic! Works everything and you feel more toned and fit every time you use it. There's the option of only doing certain circuits too.. which is great if you're crunched for time. Sometimes I'll do a few areas after a run. A good one to alternate other things with.. I'm a fan!0

I did a couple days of it in combo with the shred but decided to do 6w6p with the shred instead. I have nearly all her dvds, but I just can't decide which one I should do next...I was thinking NMTZ might be best bc it's strength. I also have a college spin class on mondays and wednesdays. My worry is getting too much cardio and losing muscle.0 -
Lifting. My dear friend does figure competitions.. Her body looks close to the one in the pictures and she is way into lifting. Women do not bulk like men. To even "bulk" like that picture most women would have to really be watching what they eat and drink and supplement etc0

love, love, love this workout. I'd say it's my favorite of hers overall. When I was using this video I would switch between this and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism every few days so I could get the cardio workout too.
No, I don't look like that gal with the exercise ball...but it really helps tighten you up overall. What does Jillian say? You can't specifically "spot train" fat....something like that. But it helps a lot. I put this workout aside for a few months to work on some other exercise goals but can't wait to pull it back in when I'm done.
definitely try this!0
