Stop basing your success on that scale! (Pics)

I posted this a few months ago (the pictures are updated now), but I am posting them again as I have been seeing a lot of discouraged new comers in the threads who feel they are ready to give up because they are not seeing the numbers on the scale change.
Stop basing your success on that scale! It is not the ideal way to assess your improvement. When you are gaining muscle your scale is going to reflect that gain. If you really want to record the changes take before photos and progress photos, buy a cord tape measure and take measurements, buy fat calipers and measure your body fat percentage.
Also, all changes are gradual and that can make it hard to notice, especially in yourself. I had no idea my body was changing in this way until I compared my photos. I thought that 9lbs was nothing and I was going nowhere, doping something horribly wrong and failing.
THIS IS ONLY A 9 LB LOSS!! Look at the difference!! It looks more like 20 lbs of fat.
Before: 166 lbs
Now/During: 157 lbs
Don't give up on yourself, give up on your scale!
EDIT: I should also note that I went from a D/C cup to a B cup between these photos and from a size 11 pants to a size 8.

YESSSS. THAT is what I'm talking about.
Oh and ps- sorry if this is weird but I gotta say it- Your butt is amazing. I mean this in a very genuine non creepy way. haha0 -
Thanks for sharing. I will definitely do the photo thing once a week for myself just to see if I can see the difference. It helps put it all into perspective. I think I rely on the scales too much because I want to see a loss.0

Thank you! lol. No creepiness taken. I wanted to see progress in my *kitten* especially which is why I took the pictures in a thong. I'm glad the hard work is paying off down there. lol0 -
Holy *kitten* woman, you look great! It's amazing that it's only a 9 lb loss. And yes, your azz looks wonderful!

Awesome job. You are correct---stop looking at the scale. I don't own one. I would get so obsessed with the number that I would make unhealthy choices for my body.
Now I go by how my clothes fit. Size 10 works well for me0 -
Nice!!0

This is soooo inspirational! I am the same height as you and about the same weight as when you started, and I exercise at the gym every day, so knowing that if I keep it up I can look like this- WOW! Thank you!0
-
Way to go! I haven't lost any weight in over 2 months and I have run religiously at least 4 times a week. In my profile, you can see me running my first 5k and there is another picture of me as you see now. I weigh nearly the exact same weight and haven't lost a single pound since last November. I'll take these smaller shirts, pants, and increased "stamina" any day of the week over an arbitrary number on the scale. In fact, my mission is no longer weight loss, but fat loss! You look good and you have the confidence to back it up. You've definitely put in work. Good job!0

Thanks for sharing! I finally weighed myself after two weeks of eating right and working out, and I was feeling very disappointed. This helps so much!0
