Hey everyone, My name is Camille and I'm 18. I've pretty much been overweight my whole life. I've been eating in moderation for about 2 weeks now.
I've tried cutting out things before and I've tried diet and exercise and now that I'm in college I feel like the time to make a change is now. I don't have a lot of time between school and work so mfp has been a huge help.
I am pretty sure I used to eat a crap ton of calories a day, it had to be over 4,000. I worked in fast food where I ate what I wanted when I wanted and then I worked at the mall where unhealthy mall food called my name constantly.
right now I weighed in at 260 and I didn't weigh myself when I started so I'm feeling dissapointed in myself. When I tried to use this as a dieting tool months ago I was 253 so realizing that I was 260 after 2 weeks and there's a change I may not have lost weight is scaring me. I don't want to give up. I am gonna hold on another 2 weeks and hope that I see some improvement. Also I weighed myself at night which I know you aren't supposed to do. I'm just really hoping I'm getting things right this time.
I am trying to eat in moderation for now and I feel like I have to of lost weight because there are times I do feel hungry.
I'm trying to eat 1,620 calories a day and I guess what I'm trying to ask is, is this going to work? I'm not exactly eating healthier, I am eating a little healthier but mostly I'm trying to eat LESS.

It will definitely get you started. And it will give you time to search if and what else you'd like to try. And this is the place to hear and learn about new things.0

You can weigh at night, as long as you always weigh at night. It will still show the losses. However, it could vary a bit if you drink a lot of water or eat right before. I used to go to weight watchers meetings at night, just keep a regular weekly weigh in so you can see your progress. It is a start to just begin with cutting portions, but it's surprising sometimes how many calories you actually eat even if you feel like you didn't eat a lot volume wise. You will only know if you track. Don't be scared, knowlege is power. You will have the power to change if you want it.0

It absolutely will help! The diary gives you the ability to really keep an eye on what you're putting in your body, and as long as you eat right most of the time, you don't need to deprive yourself.
As you continue to eat well and start to eat healthier, and start to exercise more, you'll begin feeling really awesome and really motivated... even if you're just looking for some inspiration on what to cook, have a peek around some of the boards.
Ps- you don't need to feel hungry- make sure you're getting lots of water, lots of veggies/fibre/protein (all will keep you feeling full) or if you go over in calories a little, it's not a huge deal0
