Hello all from a restaurant worker

Hi
I am from the Midwest and am 31 years old. I have been working in restaurants for 17 years now and while it is fun a good money to support myself, it's terrible for my health. I have hit rock bottom and have topped out at 267. I am only 5'6" and a female, so obviously I look and feel terrible every day. I just started using this tool, and weighed in at 255 lbs when i started, so I hope that having this to hold myself accountable for what i consume will help me. Has anyone using this tool for awhile set aside a semi 'free' day where you go over your calories, and if so, what was the result and how much did you go over? I have horrible PMS cravings and its coming up quick, so I was just curious.
Anyone in the food service industry have any tips to stay on track for me? There's a lot of new item tastings and such that I am supposed to do in order to describe and sell them, and I am afraid of the consequences, but the lack of knowledge hurts my job It's a little Catch22 I think...

Yeah, they say you should taste them.
You don't HAVE to taste them. You can look at them and go from there. What if you were vegetarian? You wouldn't taste the meat ones, and you would still be able to sell them.
I worked at TGIF for many years as a server, so I know it's hard when all that yummy food is available.
Unfortunately no one can do this for you. You have to want it, and you alone can control what goes in your mouth.
Make the change today to stop drinking soda and juice and sugary teas and coffees. That will be one thing you can do today.
Log all your food. Even "bites". Drink eight large glasses of water.
You have to start somewhere. You can't change everything at once. So just start.
You can do it.0
