LATEST: Paterno family spokesperson Dan McGinn told a New York Times reporter said reports of the coach's death are "absolutely not true."
Penn State student website Onward State reported that the Penn State players were notified of Paterno's passing via email.

His son posted that Joe isn't dead yet, but he is in serious condition still from complications that he had. He is suffering from lung cancer.0
