Okay, here we go. 42yrs old...Down 141lbs... 20% body fat, VERY muscular upper body...I have the Pectoral cleavage as my husband calls it. My boobs..GONE!! Almost 11yrs ago, I had a reduction like an idiot!!! LOL Now that I have dropped all the weight I have NOTHING for boobs. That goodness for Victoria's Secret... If it werent for the fact that their bras KEEP a shape after washing, I would never look like I have a boob. After talking to a surgeon, I am AT BEST an A..MAYBE...OMG its a horrible feeling.
HOWEVER, my ? is... After talking to the surgeon and reading all the info on it...The up-keep is HORRIBLE!! Those of you who have had them, please please PLEASE tell me, do you have to go in every year or every other year for MRI's for the implants because that the only true way to make sure you dont have a leak... I was told they would be implanted under the muscle, what kind of recovery time would I truly be looking at? As an instructor if a Body Sculpting and Toning class, how long would I NOT be able to do my class? Also, with working my chest and jumping around, what are the chances of busting (no pun intended) one of these things? Any true guidance you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!! Going to go to a different Dr for a 2nd opinion,,,but WOW the MRI alone is crazy costly.

If you get silicone implants you will have to go in for regular MRIs to ensure that there is not leak. If you get saline implants you do not have to do that because if there is a leak it will be apparent. With your implants under the muscle you are probably looking at 6 weeks recovery time, however moving your arms will most likely be painful and your surgeon may ask you not to wear a bra for a couple of months so I'm not sure how you could teach your classes. Don't worry, you will not bust them form working your chest or jumping around. It will probably feel uncomfortable to you to jump around and work your chest, though.
Yes, this is a very costly procedure. Please make sure you are in a financial position to do this just in case of an emergency and you need additional medical care and get opinions from a lot of different surgeons.
Best of luck! I hope I helped.0 -
I've had implants for almost 10 years. Mine are saline and under the muscle. I had a few post op check ups after the surgery and that's all. I have never had a problem with them and have NEVER had an MRI. I've never even heard of that before (and I have a lot of friends with implants- I live in So Cal... it's almost a requirement-lol). I get my regular mammogram and breast exams. Sometimes, when I'm doing certain chest exercises, I can feel them shift a little but other than being a little weird, it's not a big deal- they always return to their place right away. My recovery time took about a week... by recovery, I mean feeling like crap. After that, I had to keep from doing heavy lifting for a couple months or so. I've never regretted getting them. I love how they make my body more feminine looking and more proportionate. Do you research. Get lots of consultations. Look for the best doctor you can find (ask around). Also, go bigger than you think you want. That was the best advice I got! Good luck!0

I know a few ladies with these. They sound great! They only had saline available when I got mine.0
